This is a heavy solid piece of metal (not hollow and tinny feeling).Mounted easily with drill and screwdriver but in my opinion you need to mount this in a stud or other solid surface.This has a cord that you plug into a standard outlet.

Takes one 100 watt bulb (not included). 17" high. 23 1/2" arm extension. 7 1/2" oval backplate. Shade is 7" across the top, 12" across the bottom and 9" high.
