One thing FOR SURE is that the manufacturers packaging (box) is NOT adequate for
shipping this fixture by UPS!The one I ordered online also arrived damaged, but not enough to justify taking it to Sears (for exchange) or returning it.With a little "adjustment" I was able to use it.The one I bought in the store was just fine and I like these fixtures a lot.I will be converting all my old T5 fixtures with T8's
as the bulbs go out.I hope I can find this fixture in the future.I'm using them for plant propagation and "winter sun" for my larger, mature plant population, and they work great.Many plants do better under these (with the proper tubes)than they do outside.ALL fluorescent fixtures are made from "tin", so if you buy ANY one of them, that's what you'll get..."tin".One of the most important features of any fixture is the reflector, and the one on this fixture is made to maximize efficiency.Compared to my old fixtures, this one lays down much more light on the plants, where it's needed. The old ones only did a great job at lighting up the room...lolThis is a great fixture and if you "carry" it home from a store, or request "special packaging" from an online merchant and manage to receive it undamaged, I think you'll be satisfied with it too.
